Electrical Fit-Out Work
Electrical Fit Off SWMS
The electrical earthing method statement is an assessment of risk following the identification of hazards connected with the work task of electrical earthing and the subsequent implementation of controls to manage the risks.
SWMS safe work method statement requires hazard control measures to be implemented per electrical safety procedures when undertaking the earthing of electrical equipment.

Electrical Fit-Out Safe Work Method Statement
Workplace Safety has conducted a comprehensive job hazard analysis for electrical installation, namely the methods used to fit off electrical installations per electrical safe work practices and have developed risk control measures per the risk controls hierarchy.
Assess and review health and safety practices in the workplace to control risk
WHS consultation for the identification of hazards with the fit off of electrical installation equipment
Risk assessment to identify hazards in the workplace that may potentially pose an immediate threat of death or serious injury
Health and safety planning for undertaking the electrical fit-out of electrical installations and equipment, e.g. minimise risks through the planning process
WHS consultation and participation processes ensure adequate health and safety communication
Environmental workplace hazards, e.g. work in a confined space, falling from heights
Workplace trip hazards likely to result in slips trips and falls injuries
Implementation of controls for the fit off of electrical fittings, e.g. isolation of hazards and services for electrical installations in hazardous areas
Health and safety at work information for the control of risks
Tools and equipment used in the electrical fit-out of an electrical fitting
Method of identifying electrical fittings per electrical installation guidelines, specifications and drawings
Hazard controls for drilling materials to fit off electrical fittings, masonry materials may result in silica dust exposure
Electrical fit off of electrical installations and equipment using insulated tools and electrical testing tools
Working at heights on electrical ladders, mobile scaffolding and elevated working platforms in the fit off of electrical equipment
Hazardous chemicals, e.g. chemical anchors, used to support electrical fittings
Hazardous manual handling in connection with the electrical fit-out of electrical installations and equipment
Personal protective equipment, e.g. safety equipment for height work, safety equipment for electricians and respiratory PPE
Work health and safety training for workers, e.g. electrical safe work practices training
Housekeeping at workplace incorporating material handling and storage system
Legislative requirements in a workplace for complying with WHS legislation, e.g. code of practice for safe electrical work and health and safety standards
Monitoring controls, e.g. implement and monitor work health and safety practices
Electrician tasks and activities in connection with electrical fit-out works
SWMS Electrical Installation
Safe work procedure for the electrical fit-out of electrical installations and equipment shall assess the risk of construction high-risk activities involved in the fit off of electrical equipment.
High-risk activities in construction that may expose workers to whs hazards and risks are likely to include but not be limited to:
Working on or near live electrical equipment, e.g. hazards of electricity
Implementing an isolation procedure for electrical equipment to ensure safety with electrical equipment
Lockout electrical equipment for electrical fit-out works
Testing electrical equipment per safe work procedure for electrical work
Use of electrical tools and equipment, e.g. insulated tools
Work at heights
Other electrical fit-out hazards
